Prof. Alon Shrim is an Obstetrician (Ob/Gyn), director of ultrasound at the Hillel Yaffe Medical Centre and assistant professor at the Technion faculty of Medicine.

Prof. Shrim performs the vast variety of ultrasound examinations in Ob/Gyn including anatomy scan, Nuchal Translucency, Doppler testing, amniocentesis, follow up of twin pregnancies and pregnancies complicated by Intra Uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) and more.

Prof. Shrim is a graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv University and completed his residency in Ob/Gyn at the Sheba Medical Centre in Tel Hashomer.

Following his residency Prof. Shrim relocated to Toronto, Canada where he underwent a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine (high-risk pregnancies) and ultrasound in the University of Toronto. While there, he gained considerable experience in performing complex ultrasound examinations, including Nuchal Translucency, anatomy scans and amniocentesis.

After completion of the fellowship in Canada, he was offered a staff and professor position at the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, where he worked for additional three years (2008-2011). During this period, Prof. Shrim deepened his experience in complex cases, carrying out ultrasound examinations, anatomy scans, nuchal translucency, follow up of multiple pregnancies, Doppler testing, amniocentesis and more.

In addition, during his stay in Canada he directed and led the program for excellence in Obstetrics, "More Ob".

In the summer of 2011, Prof. Shrim was recruited in order to establish and become the first director of the ultrasound unit at the Hillel Yaffe Medical Centre, and he returned with his family to Israel.

Since October 2011, Prof. Shrim is the director of ultrasound in the hospital while practicing in his private clinic in Tel Aviv and Hadera.
